#MSNews | The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) recovered alleged rocket debris bearing Chinese markings along the coastline of Barangay Saoit, Burgos, Ilocos Norte, today, November 9, 2025.

At the time of the discovery, personnel from the Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Burgos were conducting mobile and foot patrol operations as part of their "Paalala sa Mangingisda sa Panahon ng Bagyo" information drive in light of Super Typhoon #UwanPH.

Coast Guard personnel also issued safety advisories to local fishermen and nearby residents, urging them to keep a safe distance from the alleged rocket debris while authorities conduct assessment and validation. | via Vince Lopez

#MSNews | Personnel of the Catbalogan City Fire Station retrieved a cadaver trapped beneath the debris of her destroyed residence at Pier 2, Barangay 3, Catbalogan City, following the devastation brought by Super Typhoon "Uwan."

Upon receiving the report, BFP Catbalogan immediately dispatched a response team to the area to conduct search and retrieval operations.

"We continue to stand in solidarity with all those affected by the recent typhoon and remain committed to providing assistance and emergency response to our fellow Catbalogans in this time of crisis," the Catbalogan Fire Station said in their statement. | via Vince Lopez

#MSNews | The Police Regional Office 3 (Central Luzon) participated in the 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held on November 6, inside Camp Olivas, San Fernando City, Pampanga.

The said activity spearheaded by the Police Regional Community Affairs and Development Division headed by Col. Ferdinand Germino aimed to enhance awareness, preparedness, and readiness among personnel by simulating real-life earthquake conditions to ensure that PNP personnel and civilian employees inside the camp can respond effectively during and after a seismic event.

At the sound of the one-minute siren, PNP personnel immediately performed the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure, taking cover under desks and sturdy structures.

Participants equipped with hard hats and go-bags evacuated their offices in single file, covering their heads to avoid possible injuries from falling debris, and proceeded to the designated evacuation area at the Parade Ground. | via Vince Lopez

#MSNews | National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Vice-Chairperson and Executive Officer (VCEO) Commissioner Rafael Vicente Calinisan called out Mr. Dha Isidro for wearing a mutilated police uniform at a Halloween party that went viral on social media.

Calinisan condemned the said act and urged Isidro to issue an apology or face consequences for wearing a government uniform and desecrating it by using it as a costume.

"It looks like this person went to a Halloween Party. Tomorrow, on behalf of all our policemen, I will issue a show cause oder against you and demand a public apology from you. If we do not hear from you, expect a case to be filed against you. Respect your men in uniform," Calinisan said in his social media post.

In a message to Manila Standard, he added that he will issue a statement on Monday (November 3) regarding the said issue, with Mr. Isidro in attendance to issue his public apology.

#MSNews | Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Maj. Gen. Robert Alexander Morico II, reported that they arrested alias “Allan”, an incumbent Municipal Councilor of Datu Salibo, Maguindanao del Sur for murder charges.

On October 11, 2025 at around 2:00 PM, the CIDG Maguindanao Provincial Field Unit, together with Highway Patrol Group, Aviation Security Group, Special Action Force, territorial police units and other joint teams arrested an incumbent Municipal Councilor at Airport Road, Brgy. Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for Murder issued by the Shariff Aguak Court, Maguindanao, on October 11, 2023.

He is listed as Number 7 Regional Most Wanted Person in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region for being a subject of Warrant of Arrest for Murder (2 Counts). No bail was recommended.

#MSNews | The Philippine National Police (PNP) issued a clarificatory statement regarding the photos released by the PNP-Public Information Office (PIO) showing alleged damages caused by the 7.6 magnitude earthquake that struck Davao Oriental on the morning of October 10.

In the released statement, the PNP-PIO said that upon their verification and validation, it was determined that the said photos did not originate from Davao Oriental nor from any of the affected areas.

"The inquiry revealed that these images were taken from a website and therefore do not accurately reflect the current situation on the ground," the statement reads.

Furthermore, for the innacuracies and error caused by the misleading photos, the PNP-PIO apologized and will place corrective measures to avoid such occurances.

"The PNP sincerely apologizes for this inadvertent error and any confusion or concern it may have caused," the PNP-PIO said.

"The misleading photos have already been removed from all official PNP platforms, and corrective measures are being implemented to ensure that all future releases undergo strict validation before publication," it added. | via Vince Lopez

DILG SLAMS FALSE ALLEGATION ON TORRE'S REMOVAL FROM POST

#MSNews | The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Thursday night, released a statement on the issue of Philippine National Police (PNP) change of leadership, 85 days since former PNP chief, Gen. Nicolas Torre III assumed the office.

In a press statement, the DILG clarified allegations regarding the relief of Torre from his stint as PNP chief as he did not sign the memo regarding the purchase of 80,000 high-powered rifles for the police force, calling it "false".

#MSNews | The Manila Police District (MPD), through the activation of the Special Investigation Task Group MALVAR (SITG MALVAR), announces that one suspect has been taken into custody while another person of interest has been identified in connection with the recent robbery with homicide involving two Japanese nationals.

Through meticulous backtracking and verification of events, including the retrieval of critical CCTV footage, the MPD have been able to establish the movements of the suspects prior to and after the incident.

Suspect 1, identified as the gunman, was seen frequenting key locations along Pedro Gil Street and was captured on camera removing his facemask, revealing his identity.

Suspect 2, an alleged tour guide, was traced through multiple CCTV recordings across different areas including Sheraton, Adriatico St., and Pasay City, helping investigators to track his movements following the incident.
