When did our Parliament last consider the
fixed pensions of Brit.s living such places as Australia & Canada ??
Fixed, IE not rising with cost of living, RPI or the like .

Jubilees regular ?
Intermittent or irregular, might be a better description.
Those ancient Jubilees did not apply to all debts.
Only a class or classes of debt.
I'll stick with the idea that Jubilees are a repetitive fault.
Surely our economists can do better?
Oh!
Will all those MMT'ers who quote others MMT work
please stay clear of the 're-adjustment' which is about to come.
Can't see the sense of wading through endless Citations
when the original or a review piece is all that is necessary. https://t.co/4CF2itGkfD
This is going to be hard work, but all #MMT advocates need to take Steve Keenβs criticisms seriously. Heβs a top heterodox economist and and a very capable ally. https://t.co/Ip1Ik6UzsY

In which case
hide all your money in the mattress
and watch all the others cause inflation by spending their money ?

IncomeTax is a played-out goldmine
@LBC this evening suggested another 9p in the Β£ required for @NHSEngland
Consider if you will a WealthTax
#UKSavers already lose about 3% pa as a Real #ExInflation Tax
The rich move to escape Income tax
but can only sell land
@notayesmansecon@hmtreasury@notayesmansecon@ONS
Looks like the RPI , which contains a proxy for House Prices,
is to be objected to ( for similar reasons to CPIH )
because real HousePrices can be gathered.
Looks like the UK needs an RPIH .
@asentance@notayesmansecon @keefeglise @ONS@asentance
25 years might have been the average term for a mortgage contract
but back then, 7 years was the average period for a mortgage duration
before people moved-on, so house prices would be re-set.
UK house prices rise by 4.2% and rents which owner occupiers obviously do not pay ( the hint is the word owner) rise by 1%. Can you guess which one goes into our "comprehensive" inflation number? #CPI#RPI
@asentance@asentance
No mention of the Target!
See @bankofengland WebSite
the Target number is in much smaller characters
than the #Inflation number.
I'll chase BoE tomorrow
because the infamous ' orange postcard '
no longer seems to be there.
