I’ve been seeing concerning reports and claims circulating about US attacks in Venezuela and the alleged abduction of President Nicolas Maduro in Caracas by the US.

Imagine if this logic were applied elsewhere,
President Putin & Russia on Ukraine
China on Taiwan
Armenia or Azerbaijan
Congo DRC or Rwanda
The global consequences would be catastrophic.

Once we accept the idea that one country can forcefully remove or abduct another country’s sitting leader, the door is opened for everyone else to do the same.

I don’t support most autocracies. But dismantling dictatorships through lawlessness only weakens the global order and accelerates militarisation, not democracy.

Also important, Selective outrage and geopolitical hypocrisy will always feel convenient until the precedent is used against us all.

Some principles should scare us enough to slow down, even when we think we’re on the "right" side.

Do you know what's crazy? The guy has admitted before the court that he did the investigations without a court order,

Which is a crime if we refer to a court ruling on the 10th of May 2018 on Okiya Omtatah's Petition Vs The Communication Authority of Kenya, where the High Court declared any form of surveillance policy unconstitutional and illegal.
