“FIFA's interpretation of Mistaken Identity was consistently applied during the FIFA World Cup. There were two instances in which a player was mistakenly identified as having committed a yellow card offence and the VAR advised the referee to correct the factual error caused by the opponent's simulation.

“The simulation itself cannot be disputed and it should not result in a disciplinary sanction against an opponent that may then lead to further consequences, such as a sending off for a second yellow card or a match suspension for accumulated cautions.

“We do not consider this to have been a referee or VAR error and the decision restored justice. We note IFAB’s comments in its Circular, we have been in contact with them throughout and they confirmed that this interpretation is valid, that it was well received and that it will form part of the discussion on revisions to the VAR Protocol, as discussed at the last AGM.”

I go to the temple with my friend. She belongs from the ST category, and we visit the temple once a week . Not once has anyone ever asked either of us about our caste.
The biggest irony is that nobody asks for your caste certificate when you enter a temple, but when you apply for admission to colleges, the first thing they ask is which caste you belong to.

@PolymarketSport IFAB's own document says the mistaken identity protocol used at the 2026 WC (Embolo & Almirón) was well received.

They're only reviewing it before approving it for all competitions. Until then, it can't be used elsewhere.

So why claim Embolo's WC red wasn't legal?

Reservation was meant to be a temporary bridge.
Seventy-five years later it has become a permanent wall.
Every year, lakhs of skilled, talented, hardworking Indian students with higher scores, deeper knowledge, and stronger work ethic are denied seats in medical colleges, engineering institutes, and government jobs - not because they lacked competence, but because of a birth-based quota system that treats merit as secondary.
This is not justice.
This is the systematic denial of opportunity to the most capable.
When hospitals, universities, and administrative posts prioritise category over competence, the cost is paid by the entire nation:
Patients suffer when skill is compromised
Innovation slows when talent is locked out
Bright minds leave the country in frustration
Youth lose faith in a system that rewards identity over excellence
The Constitution guarantees equality before law (Article 14) and equality of opportunity (Article 16).
It allows special provisions, but it never intended permanent discrimination against the meritorious.
True social justice does not mean lowering standards forever.
It means creating conditions where every child -regardless of caste or background - can compete on pure talent, hard work, and ability.
End the permanent caste-based reservation regime.
Replace it with need-based support, quality education for all, and strict merit-based selection.
Skilled and talented Indians deserve the seats and jobs their effort has earned.
A nation that sidelined merit cannot remain competitive.
Merit must rise.
Talent must be rewarded.
Competence must lead.
India first. Excellence first. Opportunity for the deserving.

@flamerray it's disadventageous to the economically weaker of every category. That's why reform are required. Some do not require it but still get it. Some literally make fake certificates.

@flamerray so maybe Rich/affluent SC/obc shouldn't get it right? those who are living in city?? ik 3 friends who are sc and did their coaching in Akash from CLASS 9. They have 2 flats and 2 cars. Maybe then students from RULAL areas and less affluent can take advantage

@flamerray ik people are casteist but Reservations ain't helping it. In urban areas, cases are low{not saying they don't exists] but Reservations is increasing it. There should be other ways of eradicating casteism but reservations ain't it.
