It has now been around 1,100 days since my father, Imran Khan, was imprisoned, and my brother and I haven’t heard his voice since March. For months, we’ve been denied contact with him. We remain in the dark about his access to healthcare as his eyesight continues to deteriorate. He urgently needs medical attention, and with no family or legal access, we don’t even get any second hand information or reassurance.

I’ve found myself especially missing him recently. I want to speak to him about mundane things like my cricket, books I’ve been reading and what new movies are good. I understand the people of Pakistan want their chosen leader free, but I miss my father more than ever.

But this is not just about a father. It is about Pakistan, and its future. A rigged, authoritarian regime continues to crush political opposition, undermine democratic institutions, and deny millions of Pakistanis their right to freely choose their leaders, whilst terrorising those who speak their beliefs.

I once again plea to the international community to not look away. Silence in the face of injustice only enables it.

لاہور کی جی سی یونیورسٹی میں داخلہ لینا طلباء کا خواب ہوتا تھا پاکستان کی تمام جامعات میں سب سے ہائی میرٹ جی سی کا ہوتا تھا، اس بار جی سی یونیورسٹی کے بارہ شعبوں میں سیکنڈ ڈویژن والوں کو بھی بی ایس میں داخلہ ملا ہے اور ابھی اگلی لسٹ آنی ہے۔
جی سی یونیورسٹی فیصل آباد کے سات شعبوں میں تو تھرڈ ڈویژنرز کو بھی داخلہ مل گیا ہے۔ بی ایس کی 6000 سیٹیں ہیں۔ پہلی میرٹ لسٹ لگنے کے بعد 4500 سیٹیں خالی رہیں۔ لاہور کی ویٹرنری یونیورسٹیدکے پروفیسرز سوشل میڈیا پر داخلوں کے لیے ویڈیو پیغام دے رہے ہیں۔۔۔۔

PFF President Mohsen Gilani and Pakistan women’s national team goalkeeper Zeeyana Jivraj appear on Global Citizen’s "No Child on the Sidelines" with hosts Vladimir Duthiers (CBS News) and Canadian TV host Cheryl Hickey to discuss a US$1M girls’ education initiative and the future of women’s football in Pakistan.

Gilani announced a partnership with the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund aiming to raise US$1 million over the next two years for girls’ education, highlighting football as a vehicle for social development. He outlined a holistic strategy centred on developing coaches, referees, sports medicine professionals, managers and players, while introducing literacy and safeguarding programmes to create a safe environment for girls in football.

Jivraj reflected on Pakistan’s participation in its first FIFA-sanctioned women’s tournament (FIFA Series), thanking the PFF for making it possible. She highlighted the team’s historic 8–0 victory over Turks and Caicos Islands - their biggest-ever win and a third-place finish, describing representing Pakistan on a FIFA stage as “an answered prayer.”

Both emphasized challenging stereotypes, inspiring the next generation of girls, and using football to advance education and social change. Gilani also noted that Pakistan’s women’s team became the first national football team in the country’s history to compete in a FIFA event, marking a significant milestone for Pakistani football.
