I wonder if his luck had held as strong as that day, when he had survived his second plane crash and walked from the wreckage with an arm full of bananas and gin.
I wonder what he’d hold now, away from the wreckage that was left behind by his dark and incredible life.

I wonder if Hemingway, after the life that he lived- the people that he helped, the people that he hurt- would say the same about how the novel of his life shut closed.
