Thoughts on @machibigbrother's @bobaoppa launch:
Machi cares less about making money from #BOBAOPPA and more about gaining back RESPECT.
The reason is simple.
He's a made man financially.
An extra 30 mil is nice to have,
but it's unlikely to change his day-to-day in a meaningful way.
HOWEVER.
In the reputation department,
man's pretty much BANKRUPT.
Despite bringing media focus & liquidity into web3.
Truly + work that ppl seem to ignore.
Even the ones who respect his status question his tainted rep.
Machi must feel a great level of unjust.
He saw meme coins as an op to flip the book on his public perception.
Easy market + Machi connections = WIN/WIN.... right?
Here's the thing.
In his own words,
he wanted to "do something different from other meme coins launches".
Machi wanted to leverage a REAL project out of the shit coin trend.
So, he spiced the launch with Defi
& recruited "quants" to advise on tokenomics.
Then they went big brain on the plans...
• Airdrop is unfair? let's make a claim site.
• Too much LP may cause a huge initial dump? let's save some SOL in reserve.
• Reserved SOL is a waste of space? Let's stake it for max gains.
Surely, people would think he's legit now with these unconventional serious efforts...?
Ironically, nobody wanted a different playbook.
Everyone saw him as a grifter and just wanted to ride on his influence for a quick flip.
the public's plan was unanimous:
PUT MONEY IN.
FLIP ON LAUNCH.
EXIT & PROFIT.
So what went wrong here?
EXPECTATIONS & COMS
In the heat of the moment last week.
Machi thought he had already won ppl's trust with the 42 mil raise....
"why did you send me the money if you didn't believe in me?... I'm the leader so I'll be making the decisions..."
drink Cool-Aid much?
people believed in him,
but only in the sense that he WILL launch a pump & dump coin.
& without Machi communicating that BOBAOPPA was his grand plan for redemption,
Nobody expected it.
Things would have played out differently,
had he just tweeted about his vision.
instead, he shits on people who jeets for his lack of coms.
As Machi wished,
BOBAOPPA is now his Magnum Opus.
If he doesn't turn the project around, his reputation will unlikely turn around.
So, for this bet, we're now left with 1 question.
What's a 50-something rich man's ego worth?
If you already don't need more money,
would you take gainz to become the clown of the party?
Personally. I'd like to side with Machi's ego.
I bought in size on both the presale and secondary. and will likely stick it out to see what happens next.
Remember, this shit is no investment.
You're throwing money into a fucking wishing well.
Don't blame the well for not returning you generational wealth.

Why are you doing YC if you’re solo devving and already hit 500k ARR. if you want the connections talk to a few peeps you respect and sign them as advisors. Grow to the point where you can no longer expand on your own and then decide whether you want to take it to the next level or not. Not every business can scale to the point of a meaningful exit for VCs. And if you’re already doing well on your own you’re like better off without the additional weight of a board and 20x ROI expectations.
I've been vibe coding since chatgpt3.5
Compared to 2 years ago. It's easy to get things up and running now (Cursor / Windsurf / Bolt).
0 -> prototype used to take 1 or 2 days, but it can now be done in 0.5 hours ( Grok / Sonnet).
Once you get past the concept stage, the execution difficulty exponentially increases.
The hard part is maintaining a project of scale.
You need entry-level programming concepts to manage the growing complexity and an intermediate product understanding to keep the scope contained.
Vibe coding works best when you behave as a product manager and delegate tasks to AI like your team members.
Currently working on - a production-level sketching tool for artists. All are working in the browser.
@levelsio Ha! I’m not suggesting to hire someone to do the work for you. A consultant should just help surface issues and point to path of least resistance. You still get to enjoy the fun of dev with less frustrations
@levelsio@DanielLockyer That’s awesome !
it would be significantly beneficial to reinvest some of those earnings into a consulting session with a experienced game dev. These findings are not almost trivial and you could quickly fix them if someone point you in the right direction
Tried out Grok 3's reasoning capabilities. TLDR it's fantastic!
I was inspired by @elonmusk's stream with a Tetris meets Bejewel game. So I prompted Grok to develop a mix of Snake and Asteroid.
One shot prompt gave me a working game already. A few more chat tweaks gave me this.

Plenty of ways to get around function calling in the way you architect the integration. We were doing it in the pre - instruct model days. There’s also no reason why I can’t lace another cheaper fine tuned model to parse r1 response for function calls. It will still end up being cheaper than native o1 prompts.
3D model generation AI is starting to take off.
This looks more than enough for background objects in games already.
We're quickly entering the end game to production art automation.
