Just over 2 weeks since Reality Thread 5 release, did not take a single day off during the break but instead focused on getting #RT6 out as quickly as possible with some of the key team members who worked through with me🙏
There is a lot packed into this release, more than I had expected, but as always it's rewarding to see it go live! I get excited every time we release a Reality Thread - such a good feeling!

We've been monitoring the #Earth2 Reality Thread 5 release closely the past 2 days & in this short period of time have just now released version 0.2.5.1 with a few updates & improvements🌏✌️
1⃣ Improvements to the global water system that handles water activity based interaction across the entire #E2V1 (swimming, diving, searching, drinking)
2⃣ Fixed an issue where Characters would overlap on respawn after suddenly disconnecting from the server - causing abominations! (team will continue monitoring for edge cases)
3⃣ Fixed an issue where Characters were unexpectedly disconnected from the server
4⃣ Updated teleporting system to reflect E2V1 time of day on destination before teleporting
5⃣ Updated the teleport system to display property owner set property description before teleporting
Fixed a bug where the shovel was not displayed in multiplayer while digging
6⃣ Fixed a bug where the current season would change for a Character after reviving
7⃣ Other minor fixes & improvements

We will continue to monitor for any further issues as always.
It has been cool to see over a 1000% increase in overall time spent inside E2V1 by Players in multiplayer mode since the Reality Thread 5 release - and even more exciting when you consider the current features are just a fraction of what we have planned ahead!
So it's great to see testers & early access Badge Holders spawning Characters & spending more time inside E2V1 than ever, during what is already a very busy time of year when people generally have very little spare time - it has been very rewarding to see indeed!
And remember what Players are experiencing now is not what Players in the future will necessarily experience. The current mechanics are mainly for explorers, crafters, discoverable item traders & questers - which obviously expand to many other types as mini-games, conquest & other experiences come online.
But by the time Players gain access in the future, including F2P, there will be completely different initial experiences available, even after early frameworks like storage, shops, restaurants, accommodation, mini-games & so forth come online - so while what Players are testing will still be there, there is also be some areas inside #E2V1 that are more developed, especially by the time F2P access is live.
Having said that, many Players in the future may still want to focus on exploring, crafting, discovering, item trading & questing after they get access, so don't how big these early Character focused game play elements may become.
I think it's also important to note that I have designed completely different opportunities for F2P Players entering E2V1, which perfectly align with the current E-ther is life ideology, some which are very unique, so it will be exciting to see some of those in 2026.

The implementation that took up the most time for this release by far was the foundation for the Global Building System, which will pave way to all building placement systems inside E2V1. So that took up a little more time than expected but we're very excited for it to go live now so we can monitor & improve on it.
The teleportation system was also a feature I knew that would be complicated & time consuming to implement, which is why I initially flagged it for a later release, however, I wanted to get it out now as it paves the way for upcoming features & also makes community meet ups a lot easier to participate in.
It is incredible to look back & realise we have kept our multiplayer & server integration systems live for the E2V1 pre-alpha for 116 days straight now. Over 99% uptime with multiple hot releases & next to zero downtime .. for a Pre-Alpha!! Really proud of this!

Authoritative server based in Singapore, me in Australia with 19ms ping & our QA ( test #3236 on screen) with 300ms ping in Europe. Just sharing this as a quick example of the results we have experienced in QA regarding the interpolation smoothness we mentioned in our latest article.

To experience this kind of smooth responsiveness when I am connecting in Australia, to a server in Singapore playing with someone in Europe, is pretty cool.
These are the type of results we've experienced in QA & hopefully most testers have a similar experience, but that is the whole reason of the Pre-Alpha state, to test different PC & network environments, and then identify any issues, fix & improve.
We are going to test different server locations, starting with Singapore, and it would be useful to see how say a group of testers from Europe experience multiplayer on the Singapore server, a group between America and Europe, a group based only in Asian / Oceania.
Remember, this specific multiplayer system we are testing now is for the open world of #E2V1 & will mainly be for interactive experiences that will not always require fast responsiveness meaning people from different locations around the world can interact without too much risk of losing out on something if they have a slightly higher ping.
For experiences that involve PvP & even some Co-op PvE type experiences, we will run dedicated services for the specific group of Players participating, with options to select regional location, as those experiences will obviously require lower ping, more responsiveness and so forth. This has been covered briefly in the past but just reminding people again who may have missed that or forgotten.
Final reminder, if someone has a really bad internet connection & high ping they will glitch - we can't control how good someone's internet connection is. For those testing together who decide to do a live stream or even record then post later after editing, please try to share details about your ping, FPS (displayed constantly in the lower right corner) in stream or recording and also back to us via the usual tester reporting avenues - we appreciate it🙏

Not that I should really need to say anything as most people would know, but remember X only supports up to 1080 format, I think they actually force 720p, so the quality of the footage I have shared has been reduced to 720p by X.

Important Update for all E2V1 testers 🌍✌️
This is an important update for all testers. Please download the new E2V1 version 0.1.3.2 released about 1 hour ago - we have set it so the previous build 0.1.3.1 will not have access to the multiplayer so you will need to download the new version to connect.
If you are testing the multiplayer with other Players and you cannot see the other Player/s you think should be visible, please save your Character and respawn. If that does not work then restart E2V1 and reconnect. We are working on improvements to intermittent multiplayer connection drops for Players without stable internet which will be updated in next versions. Remember, generally if you can see your Ping in the lower right corner, it means you're connected to the multiplayer server, however, there are some cases where you're ping doesn't clear when a disconnection occurs so just follow the above steps if you're not seeing other Characters you expect to see.
If you are steaming or posting videos, please try to note your actual real world location (where you are using E2V1 in the real world) and also note you're testing on a server in Singapore. This will help us and others understand the ping we see in the lower right corner for the stream or recording better. If you are closer to Singapore, you should get lower ping but the ping will increase the further away you are. As you can see in the video I posted on X/Twitter yesterday my ping is in the lower right corner, I usually get 18-25ms ping based in Australia to the Singapore server on a standard NBN connection.
So individual Ping WILL CHANGE depending on where you are located in the world, what your internet connection is like, whether you use WiFi or ethernet cable and how far away you are from the current multiplayer location server we're using which is in Singapore at the moment (we will change to Europe and America to test results in those locations as well later).
Also important, local time zone time inside build 0.1.3.2 may update one every 5 minutes from the time your Character spawns. That is 5 real world minutes, so equivalent to 20 minutes inside E2V1. The dev team are just testing something and so just keep this in mind if you are comparing times with other Players if you don't see the exact same time in the same E2V1 time zone it might be because the dev team is testing something.
The multiplayer is back on now so go for it again everyone and the team will keep monitoring!
Try and gather as many testers as you can in one area so we can see how E2V1 handles the rendering (multiplayer network side should handle it fine but we'd like to see the in game rendering limitations with real testers).

I know I was a little quiet throughout Q2, as was #Earth2 in general, but it's because we're so busy designing, implementing, testing, building.
Remember, we are still in Pre-Alpha & this will be our first playable release of #E2V1, probably our biggest software release to date!
We are still a few days away on the build, just fixing a few known bugs, mainly bugs around the new inventory system, specifically regarding management between the Discovery Box & the Inventory.
The article explains the purpose behind testing, so our expectation is for #Players to stay close to their properties to test a few things out because you will be prone to dying easily the further you stray, especially if you don't have a natural water supply close by & food to forage & sustain you.
I guess some might be up for the challenge to see how far they can go but that is not our expectation for this initial #RealityThread release!

I don't believe the #Metaverse should be confined to a single genre, aesthetic or style & that has been an intentional approach from the start. It’s more of a platform that, at its core, will (at least initially) be shaped by diverse elements of the internet, including various aspects of gaming, which will serve as the framework for establishing foundational rules for life, engagement & interactivity within this emerging world - something that will become apparent with the early mechanics inside #E2V1.
While the #LimitedEdition #skin drops will slow down after the remaining sets are cleared, we will continue expanding into new genres & styles by way of more traditional unlimited, time-based drops, continuing to empower our #Players to shape & define their identity as part of the deeper immersion within #Earth2 & possibly branching off into role playing, which I see as becoming part of experiences over time.
Also, an important note that when skin customisation is available it will come with risk & reward, so the #Player will need to decide on whether to customise a skin or not, as when a skin is customised, it will not be revertible back to its original state.
This means the rarity of the original authentic version of the skin can potentially increase the more times that specific skin is customised by other #Players, the flip side being that a well customised skin could literally become 1 of a kind.
