NZ First Announces Immigration Reform Policies

New Zealand First has today announced a number of campaign policies that will make sweeping changes to current immigration laws.

New Zealand's immigration system must serve New Zealand and New Zealanders.

For too long, governments have relied on immigration to drive headline economic growth and cheap labour. The result has been greater pressure on housing, infrastructure and public services, increased competition for entry-level jobs, and declining public confidence that immigration is being managed in the national interest.

Population growth must not outpace our ability to build the country.

New Zealand First will substantially reduce non-essential immigration and restore the principle that immigration is a privilege, not a right.

New Zealand is more than an economy. It is a nation with its own history, institutions and way of life.

Immigration policy should strengthen social cohesion and encourage integration into a shared national community.

The foundation of any proper immigration system in our country should be the value placed on New Zealand citizenship.

New Zealand needs to start viewing our citizenship as most other countries around the world do - it is a privilege that comes with special and unique rights and identity.

We need to understand the importance of a country’s citizenship and the reasons why we must protect and enhance what it means to be a New Zealander.

This does not take away from the ability for migrants looking to move here, contribute, and help build our country from showing total commitment and patriotism for New Zealand by becoming a citizen.

Even the most basic of privileges and rights in any country like voting has become more like an expectation for all, rather than a unique right for New Zealanders.

New Zealanders have the right to determine the future size and character of their country.

This set of polices is about taking back control of the future of our country and valuing our unique citizenship the way it should be - just like the vast majority of other countries do around the world.

Was sich gerade in Brüssel abspielt, sollte jeden alarmieren, der glaubt, dass Wahlergebnisse zu respektieren sind – ganz gleich, wie sie ausfallen. Anscheinend bedeutet Demokratie dort, dass die Regeln verändert werden sollen, wenn das Ergebnis nicht passt.

Sachsen-Anhalt hat gewählt. Das Ergebnis gefällt vielen in Brüssel nicht. Und kaum steht das Wahlergebnis fest, wird offen damit gedroht, dem Land den Geldhahn zuzudrehen: 2,95 Milliarden Euro aus dem laufenden EU-Haushalt, rund 500 Millionen Euro pro Jahr allein aus den Strukturfonds, etwa 20 % der Investitionsausgaben des Landes.

Ein Grünen-Europaabgeordneter sagt unverhohlen, die Kommission müsse „im Zweifel auch Gelder zurückhalten" und verweist stolz auf Ungarn und Polen als Blaupause, wo genau dieser finanzielle Druck am Ende zu Regierungswechseln geführt habe.

Die Rechnung dahinter scheint so simpel wie dämlich: Fehlt das Geld, geht es den Menschen im Land spürbar schlechter. Und genau das soll dann auf die AfD-geführte Landesregierung zurückfallen, bis die Wähler sie beim nächsten Mal einfach wieder abwählen.

Man muss sich das auf der Zunge zergehen lassen: Der finanzielle Würgegriff wird hier ganz offen als politisches Druckmittel gefeiert, um ein demokratisches Wahlergebnis rückgängig zu machen – auf dem Rücken von Schulkindern, Pendlern und Patienten, deren Schulen, Brücken und Kliniken ohnehin schon marode sind.

Das ist der offene Versuch, den Wählerwillen eines ganzen Bundeslandes mit Milliarden-Erpressung zu beantworten. Wer so etwas öffentlich ins Spiel bringt, stellt die Frage in den Raum, ob EU-Fördermittel künftig nur noch an „genehme" Wahlergebnisse fließen sollen. Ganze Regionen würden dann für ihre Wahlentscheidung finanziell in Geiselhaft genommen.

Wer Wahlen mit Milliarden erpresst, hat jedes Recht verwirkt, sich Wertegemeinschaft zu nennen.

Mal sehen, wie sich die Kommission aus dieser Nummer herauswindet. Meine offizielle Anfrage dazu ist jedenfalls raus. 👇

This is starting to become a pattern in Britain. One day protesters shut down access around Dover. The next, roughly 500 people descend on Portsmouth after a boat carrying around 140 migrants arrives from France, block the roads and square off with police while buses wait to move the arrivals to processing.

The buses eventually got through, but that almost misses the larger point. Britain’s immigration problem is turning into a crisis of public legitimacy. People no longer believe their government is listening, and now that anger is spilling out of polling booths and directly onto the streets.

That's not us paraphrasing Labour's AI policy, that's what it actually says: they'll take the regulator built for the under-16 ban and expand it "beyond" child safety, then admit they still can't tell you whether it sits inside a government department or is "independent" of one. Or what "independent" even means. 

No safeguards. No accountability. No idea where the power even lands.

Would you trust this from the same party that gave us "single source of truth"?

This is manifestly not about protecting children. It's about what information adults are allowed to access and exchange online.
