It's baffling that so many Americans are learning this wrong in school. It's taught correctly in the EU

@Deergineer More people means bigger venues, more rooms/halls, that is the main cost factor for cons. That often doesn't scale 1:1 with the revenue from more tickets. Also inflation, everything gets more expensive, so the tickets do too^^

@_deerfeeld @Deergineer This is not true as most cons are organized fully by volunteers. If the staff would be payed, the tickets would be vastly more expensive.
The main cost increase with more people is the venue. Bigger and more rooms/halls are inanely expensive.

But most regular users don't need it so it's not that present on consumer notebooks

Barq has Event management, groups, and other social network stuff, and the 18+ content has to be activated in the settings. Most of my encounters on barq were non-sexual. It's great for meeting up at conventions and with local furries
