Here's one of my favorite moments from #TheAeronauts . The goal for this piece was to help establish a mood for 19th century London and portray the acrobatic skills of Amelia as they begin their historic ascent.
Designing what the storm could look like for #TheAeronauts was a really fun challenge. This is the moment we pull back and see how the balloon is just surrounded by epic clouds and lightning, and luck would have it that you're heading towards more trouble, unable to steer...
Here's a little look into the process for the butterfly encounter. First, a loose storyboard panel, followed by some mood and color explorations. Then, the final brings in a few photographs to then paint over and break it to finish.
@tomharps Aw thank you, Tom! It was an absolute pleasure working with you and the team. The film is just beautiful and such a special and important story. Congratulations! Thanks for sharing the journey with me.
I'm very excited to share some concept art I did back in 2017 for the newly released film, The #Aeronauts. I worked with director Tom Harper and producer Todd Lieberman to help paint some key moments from the script. This first piece is the butterfly encounter. More to follow!
