Disney's 1951 Alice in Wonderland is pretty middling for me. The story drifts from one random encounter to the next without ever building real momentum or emotional weight, so it never quite clicks as a proper film.
What completely saves it is the artwork. These Mary Blair colours and the bold, graphic, almost poster-like designs are pure candy. Every frame feels like a painted fever dream. bright, weird, the most striking thing about the whole experience. The visuals alone make it worth revisiting.
This American pika isn't picking flowers for decoration. It's building a haystack.
All summer long, pikas gather grasses, wildflowers and other plants, carrying mouthful after mouthful back to its home. They spread the plants out to dry in the sun, then stash them away for the long alpine winter.

Freaked (1993) deserves a mention whenever someone talks about gloriously weird '90s cult cinema. The makeup, creature designs, practical effects, and sheer WTF energy are absolutely ridiculous in the best possible way. 🤡☢️🩸

We’re not running away from the Democratic Party. We’re going back to what the party used to be.
You think about FDR and LaGuardia. You think about the New Deal. That’s what the Democratic Party once was. That’s what it could be again.
And if we want to win, I think that’s what we have to become.
