MESSAGE FROM FIRE CHIEF TIM SHEEHY: It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of retired Assistant Chief Bill Barry. Bill was not only a brother firefighter, he was a friend to all. He will be missed dearly. We will share arrangements when the family announces them.

8 years ago today, a nine-alarm fire broke out at 298 Beacon Street in Boston. Two of our brothers were killed in the line of duty: Lieutenant Edward J. Walsh, 43 and Firefighter Michael Kennedy, 33. We will never forget their sacrifice and continue to pray for their families.
