So proud to celebrate my father @metrics52 at his Festschrift -- a gathering of people and presentations in honor of his career and legacy. He has influenced so many: generations of Angrists and a rockstar student family tree. An impressive array of causal effects!
IMO the best part of every @metrics52 paper is that they are just so well-written. Economics aside, he's a prose master.
Caveat: I'm actually unsure if this is an underappeciated or well know fact! @instrumenthull enlighten me?

📢 New Working Paper, with @metrics52, Russell Legate-Yang, @prof_parag, and @c_r_walt: "Putting School Surveys to the Test"
We use random variation in the NYC school assignment system to see how well public school survey responses predict long-run effects on college attainment
Bottom line: while surveys are predictive on some outcomes, parents hoping to boost their child's college attainment benefit more from conventional test score value-added models
