New milestone unlocked! 🚇

The Scarborough Subway Extension tunnel is now 75% complete! Crews recently installed a 108-metre California Switch inside the tunnel, allowing construction trains to automatically pass one another and keep materials moving efficiently to the tunnel boring machine as excavation continues.

A busy weekend of construction on the rails. 🚧

Crews worked across the Kitchener, Barrie and Lakeshore West lines on major infrastructure and maintenance projects that will support faster, more reliable and more frequent service as part of GO Expansion. From future stations and a second track, to bridge, platform, and corridor upgrades, we appreciate your patience during weekend service adjustments.

Things are looking...different at the future St. Clair-Old Weston Station.

The tracks were recently moved (aka a track shift) to create room for crews to start working on the station platforms and pedestrian tunnels.

One small shift. One big step toward adding a new transit stop in your community.

Fun fact: some trains aren’t for passengers.

Work trains and “yellow plant” machines are changing how track work gets done. They move materials, install track, and support construction directly in the corridor, making crews more efficient. Better efficiency today means a stronger network tomorrow.

Construction is in motion on all four underground stations along the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension!

Crews are building the underground station boxes that will become the main body of each stop. These stops include Martin Grove, Kipling, Islington and Royal York.
With excavation underway, we're one step closer to bringing 9.2-kilometres of rapid transit to the region.

Crews have cut through walls at Bloor GO/UP and Dundas West TTC stations, making way for an extension to the existing pedestrian tunnel. Once complete, customers will have an accessible and safe underground connection between GO Transit, UP Express and TTC services.

The operations, maintenance, and storage facility (OMSF) recently energized its outdoor rail yard’s overhead catenary system. This move allowed a Hazel McCallion Line light rail vehicle to operate under its own power for the very first time!
