An Observation.
Here in Tampa, Florida, the landscape has really changed. The Trump signs that once filled front yards have mostly disappeared. The flags on cars and boats are mostly gone, bumper stickers are rare, and even the red hats have faded from view.
We had three homes nearby that used to be covered in signs and flags. Two of them took everything down around the time the war began, and the third removed theirs even earlier. It feels like the local base community is reassessing things , and they’re not happy.
Not happy about gas prices. Not happy about their kids being sent to war. Not happy about the criticism of the Pope. Not happy about food costs or the pressure on free speech. Not happy about promises that didn’t pan out. And definitely not happy seeing displays of wealth while basic needs, like school meals for kids, are being denied.
It’s refreshing to see people paying attention to what’s happening around them and rethinking their stance. I’m not sure what it looks like where you are, but I’m relieved to see this shift here.

There was a time I got a call from Marvel to work with my buddy Darwyn Cooke to create our own version of
"NEW FRONTIER" - a limited series. Darwyn was interested but he was not a fan of the editor since they had a history and he passed. We did talk about what we would do if we had done it though. I always think of the things that would have been done if he was still with us today.

Gerry Conway! Man this is heartbreaking. One of the essential voices that influenced the comic book journey of many in my age group. The man who introduced us to Punisher! Firestorm! Power Girl! I gushed over him at every opportunity and was fortunate to work with him. He wrote a seminal comic that set me on my path of consuming comic books. Rest In Peace, Gerry. What a sweet, kind, immensely generous and talented man.

When I was in Calgary, a lot of people thanked me for speaking openly about how I feel regarding what’s happening in our government and our country. They told me it helped them realize they weren’t alone, and that not all of us fit the image that those in power want the rest of the world to believe.

I explained that my page is simply where I share my thoughts. I have the right to disagree, to defend my views, and to say whatever I choose on my own page. If someone doesn’t like that, they’re free not to follow me. And if they don’t believe in respectful conversation, they can argue somewhere else ,because if someone comments without basic manners, I just block them. It’s not complicated.

I think it’s important to stand up against things you don’t believe in. It’s equally important to accept that sometimes you might stand alone ... but your feelings are still valid. Freedom of speech means you have the right to express what you believe. Just understand that while here on my page- you are a guest.
