Fun Fact! The grasshopper symbol at the Royal Exchange comes from Sir Thomas Gresham's family. Legend says a grasshopper’s chirp saved an ancestor!
When Gresham founded the Exchange in 1565, he added a grasshopper weathervane, which still stands today on the 1844 building.
