Only two players in MLB currently have back to back seasons of 30 2B, 30 HR, 90 RBi & 90 R.
1. Juan Soto
2. Francisco Lindor
That’s it.
This duo is about to be a problem😤
Clay Holmes in his Mets career:
201.2 IP
15-10 (39 G, 37 GS)
3.21 ERA
1.25 WHIP
154 Ks (6.9 K/9)
The Holmes starter experience has been a big success🔥🔥
@_k_3424 The Mets are 47-74 since June 13th of last year with two different rosters both that are of the highest payroll in the league and Mendoza is the one constant that has remained during both failures. I do see the difference and it’s worse bc the other two should have more leeway

Phillies in 2026: 9-19
Rob Thompson Fired.
Red Sox in 2025: Make playoffs

Mendoza=still employed
Always fun when this happens, but Rule 9.17(c) was invoked here in the @Twins at @Mets game, as Brazoban was deemed brief and ineffective.
To be considered “brief & ineffective”, or B&I, a reliever has to pitch fewer than 1.0 innings (so 0.1 or 0.2) and allow two or more earned runs, inherited or otherwise, OR pitch exactly 1.0 innings and allow four or more earned runs inherited or otherwise.
A note on that as the “earned” just means that reliever doesn’t get the benefit of any previous errors.
Tonight, Brazoban entered with two outs in the eighth in relief of Craig Kimbrel with the bases loaded. Facing Ryan Jeffers, he allowed a grand slam to tie the game 7-7.
He then retired Kody Clemens. The Mets scored three in the bottom of the eighth to take a 10-7 lead.
Brazoban starts the ninth and gets an out before getting pulled. Devin Williams entered and goes K, single, indifference, RBI single, double, ground out to end the game.
Now, part of the rule is this: “a pitcher whose outing meets said criteria (B&I) cannot be credited with the win, provided there is at least one more effective reliever that followed.”
While it feels like Devin Williams was brief and ineffective, he technically isn’t because he only allowed the one run to score, while Brazoban allowed four (three inherited).
Because of that, this fulfilled rule 9.17(c), meaning Brazoban gets just a blown save, and Devin Williams gets a win and not a save. Fantasy owners should have a field day lol, and amusingly even when the Mets win, it’s gotta be weird.

.375 AVG (9 for 24)
.444 OBP
.944 OPS
3 2B
0 HR
2 RBI
4 R
3 SB
Semien has been swinging a good bat over the last week🔥
@ExitTheLeft Tougher to drive people in from the bottom of the order. Also no one is driving people in right now and Alvy is the only that has hit at all this season. You had to change something up with the lineup but putting Benge leadoff was not it.
