My mom spends hours researching horses for our family’s Breeders’ Cup picks. 🏇
I built a Python tool to gather the data and update her Excel workbook—less manual work, more time enjoying the races.

I have been learning GitHub Copilot for work and decided to give it a little more practice on the personal side.
I've never been a front end person and I've wanted to create a personal 'New Tab' page. This is the result.
I think I completed my NFL Spread data scrapping to Excel #Python project! At Least Dev complete. Added error email and logging, PyTests and everything looks good. Going to see how it performs for the next 2-3 weeks before installing it on my mom's local machine.
#100DaysOfCode
It's been a bit since I've posted here.
I have gotten back into some personal #Python projects lately.
· PW Locker to a local SQL DB (instead of SQLite)
· Fixed my Family NFL Pool-Data Scrapper/Excel Automation script
· It wouldn’t be 2025 without learning how to use A.I. 😂
@AlSweigart It's been many years now, but I did turn your password locker concept from a 'read a json file', to a write to a SQLite db and encrypt and then still using a run command, decrypt and copy the password.
It's been a while since I've done a #100DaysOfCode . Going to try to get back into personal coding more often.
Never finished the #Python book, 'Learn To Code With Baseball'. So I re-started it and hope to finish it this time around.
49er thoughts:
- Purdy's injury happened, it isn't one specific fault. That's football, that's sports, that's life.
- The 80s and 90s teams made it look so easy. The 49ers have had a decent amount of great teams in the past 15 years, 0 Super Bowls. It shows how hard it is to win.
@richjmadrid You're not worried about being close to the cap, a lot of team FA's and not a lot of draft picks?
I feel they had young players waiting to replace FAs this year. Not sure if they will be able to do the same this upcoming year.
It's been a while! A lot good stuff has happened. Trying to get back into a routine of 1 hr of gym, 1 hr of reading, 1 hr of coding, 1 hr of video games. Means wake the hell up early!
The gym part I've done constantly, the rest? eh
Trying to change that, here's to good habits!
Listening to the #SFGiants radio telecast via https://t.co/0yW4q0j9WU while working on the 'Learn to Code with Baseball' #Python book. Probably going to watch the Oregon State baseball game later on as well. Safe to say, it's a baseball day.....

Figured out how to use Spotify's API to get a playlist and create a YouTube playlist using YouTube's API. Not sure if I'm going to actually use this, but still neat figuring out how to automate it.

NBA Finals prediction. I think each team will win a game on the road & somehow it will be 2-2 after 4 games.
Who wins in a best of 3 in games 5-7?
The youth and talent advantage of the Celtics. Or the experience, depth and more rested advantage of the Warriors.
GS in 6.
Got 'Learn to Code with Baseball' to see if the topic will get me more into the data science & ML side of #Python. Started that today, basics for the intro which is fine
Will be alternating between that & making enhancements to my PyTube script for #100DaysOfCode for a few weeks
