If I were able to ask Hasan whether it's inconsistent to support Harris campaigning with El-Sayed when he was critical of Harris campaigning with Liz Cheney, I suspect the response would be 1) Liz Cheney made voters less likely to vote for Harris, not more, & 2) that she's anti-abortion, voted 90% with Trump etc.

My follow up would be 1) Is there evidence that Harris, who famously underperforms with Black voters, who performed worse with Black voters than Joe Biden, & who lost Michigan, will help AES? And 2) Isn't being an unrepentant member of the genocidal Biden administration worse than Cheney's congressional record?

Contrary to his claims of wanting to protect unions, NYC Mayor Mamdani’s threat of lawsuit against $10,000 bonuses to grossly underpaid teaching assistants (members of UFT union) is because he wants to comply with the odiously anti-union Taylor law.

The Taylor Law bans any gains for NYC public-sector unions from City legislation and ALSO bans strikes.

Overturning the Taylor Law should be a top priority of Mamdani and other “democratic socialists,” not to enforce it against some of the city’s poorest-paid workers.

Business unionist labor leaders like 17-year UFT President Michael Mulgrew have allowed the dire situation to worsen over decades.

We need a reckoning in the labor movement, and class struggle unionism to replace business unionism. Class struggle unionism also means a fight against both the Democratic and Republican parties — the opposite of the DSA leadership's strategy.

The demand to defund the police is a demand for fiscal responsibility. Police solve 2% of all major crimes, yet monopolize public safety budgets and narratives.

Notice what Trump managed to accomplish *without* a supermajority? Remember how Biden had a trifecta when Roe was overturned? Remember when Obama had a supermajority?

Gray argues that “defund could not be more literal,” and says opponents have succeeded in pushing politicians to debate the phrase instead of explaining or defending their previous support for “defund the police.”

She points to continued growth in police budgets since 2020 and argues that the underlying case for “defunding” is “one of the easiest things to prove and support.”
