Psychiatric Hospitals Fail to Warn Electroshock Patients of FDA-Cited Risks in Estimated $7 Billion Industry — CCHR International reviewed more than 50 psychiatric hospitals across 23 states that administer electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and found how many hospitals failed to warn of:

If you asked a psychiatrist today questions on how the mind works or how the brain works, you will discover he doesn't know. That's right. He doesn't know. And if you ask him about how #ECT "works", same thing, he will also tell you he doesn't know.

He does however have endless theories and opinions about it, along with copious amounts of speculation, conjecture, guesswork and presumptions.

If the psychiatric industry tried to market #ECT today as "treatment", it would be rejected on the grounds of causing serious harm to a person, such as brain damage and other iatrogenic illnesses.

If the devices being used to electroshock patients were introduced to the market today, they wouldn't pass the standards laid down by the Medical Devices Regulations 2002.

It's therefore extraordinary that people continue to be electroshocked. It reflects the level of psychiatric propaganda being disseminated by the psychiatric industry to hide the damage being inflicted from regulators and law makers alike.

Those responsible for continual failures in the psychiatric system, those being psychiatrists and their management bodies, resort to public appeasement by using mantras such as "lessons have been learned."

But lessons aren't learned and never have been learned. Psychiatrists carry on damaging patients and destroying lives with impunity through coercive "treatments."

Psychiatrists and their apologists are on a losing wicket. While they may consider the harm inflicted as collateral damage, they can't get away from the definition of assault.

Let this sink in: if the #psychiatric industry tried to market electroshock (#ECT) today as a method of "treatment", it would be rejected on the grounds that it causes serious harm to a person, such as brain damage and other iatrogenic illnesses.

The fact that it's still being used and that people are still being brain-damaged highlights the level of psychiatric propaganda that's being used to hide what is really going on. Regulators and law makers may be in the dark which is why it's vital to continue exposing this assault.

Psychiatric #ECT "treatment" represents man's inhumanity to man. Despite the efforts of psychiatrists and their membership body to sanitise the shock procedure, decent people can see past the propaganda and recognise it for what it is - torture.

For each "treatment", psychiatrists set the amount of current of the shock. Normally, they experiment with different settings to find out how much electricity is needed to keep a patient convulsing for at least ½ a minute after the shock is over.

FDA’s Psychotropic Drug-Risk Medication Guides Need to be Mobile-Accessible So Consumers are Warned of Dangerous Risks. The FDA also needs to launch ads informing the public about Medication Guides so they can avail themselves of this information

MedGuides are very different from the small package inserts that usually accompany a prescription drug. The normal prescription drug package inserts can be extremely lengthy, use medical terminology that is incomprehensible to the average consumer, and are normally printed with a very small font (4 point), which is difficult to read.

Under the federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, the FDA requires that Med Guides be dispensed with products the agency deems a serious and significant public health concern (this includes nearly all psychiatric drugs). These are available on the FDA website.

Med Guides were specifically designed to be easier for the average consumer to read and understand. They must:

*Use a larger font (no smaller than 10 point)
*Must be written using “nontechnical, understandable language,” and “shall not be promotional in tone or content”
*Must describe “the particular serious and significant public health concern that has created the need for the *Medication Guide” and must note any known “pediatric risks”
*Must include “a statement of the risk, if there is one, of the patients developing dependence on the drug product”

As a result of a dismissive and condescending approach, psychiatrists consistently demonstrate their inability to understand the lived experience of someone in distress.

Whatever the difficulties are and whatever the mental trauma is that has caused turmoil in a person's life, psychiatrists follow the same damaging patterns: prescribed #psychiatric drugs and brain-damaging #ECT.

They don't listen to their patients and they certainly don't find out what's actually wrong or what's actually troubling them. It is both telling and revealing that psychiatrists get upset about their 'treatments' being criticised and exposed for being inhumane. With this in mind, the only action is to continue exposing the inhumanity.

Under current laws, no one is permitted to inflict brain damage on another person, with impunity, unless they are a #psychiatrist using electroshock also known as #ECT. Despite psychiatric denials, brain damage is caused when psychiatrists use ECT.

The fact the psychiatric industry is still allowed to continue this assault under the guise of 'therapy' is enough reason to carry on beating the drum so that it is brought to regulator attention, to Government attention, and so that an end to the torture and inhumanity can finally be achieved. #mentalhealth #MentalHealthMatters #mentalhealthawareness #psychiatry
