Both have techniques that are optimized for their sport. Sitting down on punches is easier in Boxing because you don’t have the threat of a takedown or a leg kick, so you can sit more.

They have great footwork though, but being in a heavy boxing stance is factually worse for being able to endure leg kicks. MMA fighters also don’t throw conventional jabs either, since it usually leaves use exposed in MMA.
