Women don’t owe men sex. If you think otherwise, you’re promoting rape culture. Hope that helps. Babies get raped. Elderly women get raped. Women dressed modestly get raped. Women in hijabs get raped. Nuns get raped. Women in jeans, tracksuits, pajamas, school uniforms, and work uniforms get raped. There is no outfit that prevents rape and no outfit that invites it.

If you are more comfortable analyzing a woman’s clothing than condemning a rapist, you are part of the problem.

Most people judge clothes on Temu by the photos.

Big mistake.

The fastest way to avoid buying clothes that feel like cheap plastic is to ignore the pictures and read the Fabric Composition.

Here's a simple cheat sheet:

Avoid (unless blended well)
• 100% Polyester
• 95% Polyester, 5% Spandex
• Cheap synthetic blends

Run away.

These are usually thin, shiny, trap heat, build static, and often feel like swimwear instead of actual clothing.

Look for
• Modal (extremely soft)
• Combed Cotton
• Ring-Spun Cotton
• 100% Cotton
• Viscose/Rayon (soft and smooth)

If you're shopping for specific items:

Jeans:
Search "100% Cotton Denim", "Heavyweight Denim", or "Rigid Denim".

Dress shirts:
Search "Oxford Cotton", "Cotton Poplin", or "100% Cotton Dress Shirt".

Jackets:
Search "Heavyweight", "Fleece Lined", or "Wool Blend".

Vintage clothes:
Look for Corduroy, Heavy Knit, or Washed Cotton.

One last trick that saves me money every time:

Never trust the product photos.

Go straight to the reviews, filter by "With Photos", and look at pictures uploaded by real buyers. That's where you'll see what the fabric actually looks and feels like.

Also look out for promos, you can get stuff for cheap and free packages for a cheap price.

The landlord's increment and illegal light disconnection are wrong. Wealthy or not, complaints shouldn't be dismissed, and affordability is a concern for everyone.

The bigger conversation here is that this woman clearly started facing multiple family and economic challenges that makes living in banana island clearly above her means. With 15-30m, she can get a flat in lekki 1 or even VI, duplex in Dolphin Ikoyi, etc. Even if she goes to court, she may lose because she's lived there for 5yrs without increment so the landlord is well within his right to increase to prevailing market rates, especially with ample notice. Almost all her arguments are emotional arguments, while the conversation is a business one. It's why I've always insisted on adjusting to live within your capabilities. It'll never make sense to me to think staining your image to be crying online about your banana island rent, to people who mostly live in Iyana Ipaja or oworonshoki, is a better option than simply adjusting your lifestyle to your current means.
