[PROMOTED] Warrant Officer TM Mnisi, who recently displayed exceptional bravery while off duty and on his way home when he observed a business robbery in progress at the Boxer store in Orange Farm, has been promoted to the rank of CAPTAIN.

On 12 December 2025 at approximately 18:00, Captain Mnisi, who was stationed at the Sedibeng K9 Unit, confronted a group of armed suspects and immediately requested backup. He strategically positioned his state vehicle to block the entrance to the parking area in an effort to prevent the suspects from fleeing. Upon noticing that the exit was blocked, the suspects opened fire. Captain Mnisi returned fire, and during the exchange he sustained a gunshot wound to his back right shoulder.

Despite his injury, he managed to drive himself to the nearby Stretford Clinic, where he received medical treatment.

The swift and courageous actions of Captain Mnisi demonstrate his unwavering commitment to protect communities, even at great personal risk.
