@matthewhodg I predict the diesel bi-mode is dead for anything except high speed (100mph+) requirements. Everything else will be battery and electric.

LIV-NRW possibly the hardest test for BEMU bc of the unelectrified dist HAZ to Grantham. But BEMUs on other routes could cascade 170s.

Increased demand on depot access is driven by an increase in train service + the trainsets' maintenance requirements. New trains may req less maintenance.
