I don’t know the answer to this question. However, I hope with time and learning I will one day be able to answer it with full confidence.

I’ve been having a look at #Roblox because I’ve seen all the threats from predators to children on the website.

As someone who has young relatives who use Roblox I can’t just not do anything and risk them being exposed to harmful people.

When signing up on #Roblox, I had to:

Create a username (It said don’t use your real name)
Give date of Birth
Gender is optional
On the next page was create a password

There was no email involved at this stage but when I tried to log out later it told me to add an email address so you don’t get locked out. (I’m not sure about this)

I signed up as an 18 year old. (I’m older) To access chat on games you have to do a face scan to confirm age. Being older it recognised me as such and put me as a higher age.

The game then told me I could only chat with people of similar age which is reassuring. Hopefully this means children are protected from predators and keeps them safe.

I’ve signed up for another account as a younger age. (Without Email) The same applies when creating an account. As well as doing a face check to see age.

There is also a parental control area in settings, where you can link a parent email. Hopefully this keeps parents fully informed of what their child is doing as well as verifying their child’s age.

As said before, it seems in #Roblox you can only interact with people in the same age groups. Hopefully this means young children are only interacting with other children and not harmful people. (Monsters)

From what I’ve seen, the Roblox Corporation and its CEO #DavidBaszucki have made serious improvements to protect children.

I don’t know how secure the age verification is. I’d like to think there is no way to breach it and it keeps children safe but I’m not naive.

Monsters always have tricks. Tricks no one else would ever think of. They’re capable of anything and everything. Because they are disgusting evil scumbags.

All parents need to monitor what their children are doing. They may be annoyed at you for it, but it is 100% necessary. When they’re older they will understand.

It’s not just #Roblox, there is:

Discord
Hundreds of games
Xbox and PlayStation voice chat

Children need to be educated on online safety. No real names, no date of birth, tell nothing about themselves.

Please care about your children. Please.

Spent the afternoon reading today and read the whole of ‘A day in the life of Ivan Denisovich’ by #AleksandrSolzhenitsyn.

The fact humans can willingly submit other humans to those terrible conditions is horrific.

#Stalin was sending soldiers of the #RedArmy to #Gulags because of his paranoid tendencies and that’s it.

Millions of civilians being sent to hell on earth simply to fill quotas and provide slave Labour, often being transported hundreds or thousands of miles from their home.

May all those who suffered find peace.
