Manhattan boys basketball is off to a hot 5–1 start this season after winning just five games all of last year. The Indians dropped their opener to Life Prep Academy but have rolled since with wins over Newton, Hugoton, Salina Central, Dodge City, and most recently a buzzer-beater victory over Shawnee Heights. Will Carpenter led the way Monday night with 27 points, including the game-winning three. Manhattan now heads into the long winter break before returning to action January 6 against Hays. #sportsinkansas
