The Web3 space claims to be about innovation, collaboration, and building together. But when someone with influence enters, they’re met with skepticism, not support. Why? Because of past bad actors?
Instead of onboarding and educating, the first instinct is to gatekeep and criticize. Yes, due diligence is necessary, but the “gotcha” culture prevents growth and keeps Web3 feeling like an exclusive club.
Web3 will never reach mass adoption if the reaction to newcomers celebrity or not is to assume the worst instead of helping them navigate the space the right way.
Imagine if we welcomed people in, educated them on the mistakes of the past, and helped them build better instead of waiting for them to fail. The space grows, and we all win.
At the end of the day, the goal should be progress. But the constant cycle of tearing down instead of building up is why Web3 struggles to retain mainstream attention.
