@thelovemaster Sadly, it’s even worse for children with speech problems. They need to see the oral motor movements of others to learn to form words themselves.
@TheNextMartha While it is true that this study is skewed towards the Caucasian participants, there were also many more of them. That is an underlying issue on its own. We need more people of color to participate in these voluntary studies, or else there’s no way the data cannot be biased.
@TheNextMartha The Vit D deficiency study is from 2011-2012, so it’s a known issue for a long time. Has to due with the amount of melanin in the skin. The COVID study is recent (Oct,) so there’s a lot of data supporting the claim. It’s interesting, and worth taking a supplement.
@TheNextMartha That is very possible. What is normal for one person is not normal for another, but there is a mean. And it’s possible that mean could be influenced by race/ ethnicity. I can’t wait for everyone to have their ancestry DNA as part of their med chart. No doubt it should help.
@TheNextMartha Also, not abnegating how sad all of this is. Just trying to offer some studies which show that upping Vit D can help with survival rates.
@TheNextMartha I saw a study about Vit D levels being deficient in those (not just children) who had higher risk of dying from C-19. Vit D is a known deficiency in those of Afr-Am and Hispanic heritage. Maybe this is another issue?
