Senior Afghan Journalist and Former Minister Haroon Mubarez, Talking to Afghan Times

“I’ve been watching the situation closely,” Haroon Mubarez said, speaking from Germany to the Afghan Times. “The recent suicide blasts in Pakistan clearly reflect the frustration of groups like TTA and TTP. Since Pakistan’s military strikes, these groups have been badly hit their operations disrupted, their control shaken.

That old pretense of ‘we don’t target civilians’ is gone. Now, they’re striking soft targets wherever they can. They’re reacting because the Pakistani forces are hitting back hard, and they’ve lost any discipline they used to claim.”

He continued, describing Afghanistan’s economic reality:

“The situation here is really dire. Trade with Pakistan has effectively stopped, Chabahar port is closed, and global prices for oil and medicines are rising sharply. Ordinary Afghans are facing severe food shortages they can barely get basic necessities.

The Taliban need to stop relying on outside intelligence from countries like India and start thinking about their own people. Right now, it’s the civilians who are paying the price for all these tensions.”

Haroon shared these insights in conversation with the Afghan Times, highlighting both the immediate impact of regional military actions and the deeper struggles faced by ordinary Afghans under the current conditions.
