A battle rifle would be the same (doesn’t have to be select fire) but shoots a full powered rifle cartridge.

What you’re referring to is a made up term of assault weapon. There is a big difference- one means nothing and the other means select fire rifle that shoots and intermediate round.

Then about 90% of the remaining half is due to gang violence. The chance of you being involved in a shooting incident is incredibly small.
