@Trekiros Definitely wouldn't hate it. I think it's one of those things where for a majority of people, it won't make too much of a difference, but for the people it matters to, it's HUGE.

So if it's not a massive amount more work, it's probably worth it.

@_CritCat_ @Trekiros Well if your answer can just be "fix it with homebrew" then there really isn't any point in having critical discussions about systems.

I feel like for these kinds of discussions you kinda have to limit what you're considering to how the system actually exists/is published.

@Trekiros In reality, I think it's somewhere in the middle. No better or worse really that fixed initiative. Just different, and better for some tables, worse for others.

@Trekiros Obviously initiative systems like this can work (already do in multiple systems) but I do think both sides are kind overestimating their positions. One side saying it's trash cuz of theoretical situations, and the other saying it's only a problem if you got problem players.

@Trekiros Why not just provide an official conversion to distance, for those who want it? And those who don't or are playing theatre of the mind can just use the labels for approximate ranges?

@Trekiros This feels like an idea for people who don't really exist. Those fine with these vague concepts are likely fine with it because they're playing theatre of the mind. Those playing with minis are often doing so to avoid this wishy washy stuff and to have concrete understanding.

@ecyinka I'd actually be kinda interested to see a series set in the world of doom, but not necessarily focusing on doomguy.

Would be cool to just sorta see his big fights happening in a background. Maybe follow some members of ARC? Or just some random people trying to survive.

@mell_pitcher I wish the trend was continuing cult classic series that got cancelled, instead of remakes. Similar concept, would still come with an existing dedicated audience, but could actually still give people something that they want.
