Up here in hillbilly Hicksville QLD with an LNP state govt in play, the only people it’s been plain sailing for are the LNP & their sycophants.

They continue to plumb the depths of duplicity & secret handshakes with a doggedness that would make Joh proud.

Cristafulli & Lord Pocketsquare are poncing about like pouter pigeons extolling the virtues of governance without offering any proof of genuine governance. The millions they are spending on propaganda campaigns to tell us how good they are doesn’t make it fact. They are commandeering every available airwave, SM platform & streaming service to let us all know how they are “making QLD safer” - along with 2 more slogans regarding “adult crime, adult time” & a “breach bail go to jail” bill that was introduced into parliament in August this year. There is also the “place to call home” housing initiative droning into our consciousness daily. I can’t imagine how much this is costing. They aren’t even in an election cycle & they are campaigning furiously.

Meanwhile, the LNP continues to cut funding to public housing, housing commission services & punishes homelessness by changing legislation to shift the parameters of eligibility to make it look like there is less homelessness in QLD. They have also cut millions from emergency accommodation & homelessness support programs. They have removed affordable housing targets on certain developments.

In their first 6 to 18 months the LNP govt:
-Cut funding to the Environmental Defenders office.
-Repealed QLD Labor’s renewable targets.
-Extended the operational lifespans of ageing coal-fire plants.
-Removed mandatory zero-emissions vehicle transition targets for the public service QFleet management system.
-Scrapped rail line between Beerwah & Maroochydore.
-Reneged on their promise not to sell state-owned energy assets. Sold the Copper String Project -an energy infrastructure initiative.
-Spent over $650,000 on undisclosed polling after criticising Labor when LNP were in opposition for spending money on polling. The LNP have yet to release those results.
-Repealed diversity quotas for 2032 Olympics, reducing mandated representation of Indigenous Australians and women.

-Their promise to reduce state debt is a joke.

-Scrapped large-scale Pioneer-Burdekin nth QLD pumped hydro project.
-Cancelled the $1 billion Moonlight Range windfarm.
-Repealed the Forest Wind Farm development act.
-Scrapped development application for a 200MW/800MWh big battery near Mackay.
-Tightened regulation on wind development.
-Repealed Path to Treaty Act while supporting it in opposition.
-Reneged on promise not to build Olympic stadium.
-Bypassed laws & councils to exempt Olympic infrastructure from standard state & local planning regulations.
-Scrapped the coal royalty energy rebate for all Queenslanders.
-Scrapped rego rebates.

They were just getting started.

They bought a fleet of new govt cars & spent a motza on Parliament House renovations.

They cut $38m from the domestic & family violence budget this year. The federal Labor govt stepped in with $67m for the next 4 years to fund DV & family services for QLD.

Healthcare is collapsing due to underfunding & understaffing. Ambulance ramping & hospital wait times are an all-time high. The LNPs devised hospital KPIs are putting pressure on hospitals & performance.

-Flu spikes after LNP have refused to back in public vaccinations.
-Costings secrecy. Gagging debate about costs. Telling the public there will be no public updates re the costs of the Olympics.
-Scrapped 10,000 affordable homes.
-Removing the ban on property developer donations & then cashing in on it with 15-minute paid meetings for corporate donors with Crisafulli.
-delayed or cut funding for regional nurse & doctor programs.
-Postponed hospital expansions.
-Delayed Cancer Clinic funding.

.. let’s not forget that credit rating downgrade 🙄
