Finally putting my first theological reflection together today for my curacy. Somehow, I have gravitated onto Twitter. Not sure whether it is for inspiration or escape...anyway, reflection is something to do with church diversity.
@Rev_RichTea I agree Richard that all in ministry should seek to pioneer, but maybe for some, a bit like ordained ministry in the church, this is a particular calling and focus. Thanks for all the other top tips! I enjoyed reading them and your reflection is helpful.
Don’t project life’s fears far in the future with forecasted terror. Just show up everyday, give it your best, and let God unfold life for you. Giving up control of how things must go is liberating. You have enough grace for twenty-four hours and that’s all you need.
@jamesellin Are you sure it's the print and not the nature of what you're reading James? When I am reading theological stuff it takes me ages because I have to keep using the oxford dictionary for every other word (slight, but only slight exaggeration)
#somethingnew Done many things for the first time during lockdown ... Furloughed myself, planted runner beans and kale, painted house, attended online prayer meeting with 80 others, called many people I would not normally, packed foodboxes, delivered foodboxes ... Is.43 18-20
Church is not closed, it is on deployment! Since the March our community team has:
-distributed 1.6 tonnes of surplus food to 625 people
-shopped and delivered prescriptions
-made 803 telephone calls
Thank you to everyone who has supported. @WiltsCF @Pantrypartner@waitrose
In so many ways life is so different, yet some things remain the same....@SalisburyCath today. Praise God, he remains the same. Yesterday, today and forever, you never change!
Can we learn anything from the 8th Century BC prophet Amos about our Corona inflicted world of today? Well, I think we can. Here is one reflection spun off my @trinity_bristol Biblical Studies assignment....
