Honored to join the Foton Global Partners Conference and reinforce a partnership that continues to deliver real value.

We held a constructive meeting with the VP and senior management on fleet modernization and strengthening our long term collaboration, and it was a pleasure meeting the President whose continued support remains invaluable.

I also visited Foton’s engine manufacturing facilities developed through their global partnerships with Cummins and Daimler, which are setting new benchmarks in performance and reliability.

We agreed to integrate e trucks and LNG technologies into our fleet to enhance efficiency, reduce emissions and support Ethiopia’s transition to cleaner, modern transport.

It was such a pleasure to participate in the @AHCStories' summit Africa@Scale 2025 in Accra, Ghana, and to connect with incredible business leaders from across the continent.

I was also honored to speak during the presidential dialogue held at the @AfCTA headquarters, where I began by reflecting on the African Hidden Champions Declaration, first launched in Victoria Falls in 2023, and reaffirming our shared commitment to its vision - one that calls on us, as African entrepreneurs, to build from within, to create brands, products, and institutions that stand proudly on the global stage.

Drawing from the journey of @EastAfricanHldg that spans over a century, I shared how family-led and homegrown enterprises can drive Africa’s next phase of industrial transformation and sustainable growth, not just as businesses, but as generational builders of Africa’s future and national enablers.

As a member of the AHC Steering Committee, I was deeply inspired by the exchange of ideas and experiences among leaders, investors, and policymakers. The summit once again underscored the power of collaboration and knowledge-sharing in building resilient African champions that can compete globally.

Grateful to the AHC community for the enriching discussions and to every entrepreneur who continues to believe in and embody the spirit of “Building from Within.”

It was an honor to speak at the Financial Times Africa Summit 2025 in London, one of the continent’s most important gatherings of business and policy leaders.

I spoke on “The Missing Middle”, focusing on how Africa’s next economic leap depends on nurturing scalable, homegrown companies that can bridge the gap between small enterprises and regional giants. Our conversation explored industrialization, competitiveness, access to finance, and what it takes to build globally competitive African champions. It was an engaging and insightful session with eminent co-panelists and thought leaders who shared diverse perspectives on unlocking Africa’s immense growth potential.

As we inaugurate the Lemi National Cement Factory, with a production capacity of 150,000 quintals per day, this mega project stands as a testament to our government’s commitment to building fast, building big, and building clean. It exemplifies the swift and efficient delivery of crucial infrastructure. Congratulations to all those involved in realizing this important project, which now produces 50% of the cement made by factories across the country.

Returning to this site after two years, I am astounded by the progress, which reflects our governance principles. It shows that with hard work, future generations will not inherit poverty but a foundation for growth and prosperity.

If we replicate industrial projects like Lemi across the nation, the ripple effects in job creation and national development will be unmatched, especially in sectors like steel manufacturing, fertilizer production, which can catalyze a broader industrial and agricultural revolution.

The challenges facing nations like Ethiopia require large-scale solutions. The joint cooperation between the private and public sectors is key to unlocking national opportunities and addressing our most pressing problems. By investing in initiatives like this, we can uplift more people and ensure they live dignified lives.
