Parents feel why compete in the major sports where their child won’t have a shot. So they pay for soccer. Fencing. Tennis. Golf. Separated by the cost it gives them an angle to get into college playing a sport. Gatekeeping at its finest

Disagree. Athletes play the sport they love and excel at, but sometimes love trumps that. Our system gives no opportunity. We paid $6k per season for two boys: only 90-minute practices and weekend games. No set pieces, throw-ins, or counters from 6U-11U. Pay-to-play is a real money grab, especially for rich kids in soccer.
