@madamspeaker I’m sorry to hear that, Joy. So many lost so much. As a teen in the late 1960’s I watched the war unfold on the nightly news. For me, Iris Dement’s “There’s a Wall in Washington” captures well the agony and anger we should feel for all we lost.
@josephmljr Top financial priorities of the local church should be care for the poor in the church and a living wage for the pastors and employees of the church. Other internal and all external expenses come after that. “Living” should be more than mere subsistence.
@josephmljr At AGTS in the mid-1980s Bill Menzies was telling us that Pentecostalism often had as much in common with Catholicism as with evangelicalism.
@josephmljr Witness the number of “leadership” degrees compared to those in biblical studies, biblical languages, theology, church history, hermeneutics, preaching combined!
Went on a brief trip to the mountains this week.
My son packed Return of the King so he could finish reading it … but also packed Fellowship & Towers “in case I need to reference them, you know, to keep things straight.”

@madamspeaker Thank you, Dr. Qualls. This scandal will be worse than people think. The years this man was used as a speaker, mentor, and resource for XA will have created a mini XA subculture that exists beyond himself. We need an independent investigation to uncover the extent of this.
@madamspeaker As young adults we move far from home, taking our children with us, largely clueless about the pain we cause our parents. 20 years later our kids do that to us and we have a painful, rolling epiphany: We realize our pain, then our parents’ pain, then how graciously they bore it.
@madamspeaker Several charismatic ministries are now pushing back very hard against the charismatic / Pentecostal political and prophetic shenanigans of the past several years. As an AG official in the deep South, I have been doing that publicly. It is not always appreciated.
