🇬🇧🇨🇳 British Royal Marines and special forces-linked drones were secretly transmitting data back to Beijing...
A £12 million fleet of K3 Scout surveillance drones used by the Special Boat Service and Royal Marines were found sending regular “heartbeat” signals to an IP address inside China.
The Chinese-made camera systems kept transmitting even when the drones were powered down.
Some of the aircraft had been used in planning for a UK freedom-of-navigation mission in the Strait of Hormuz and had operated near senior special-forces meetings.
The discovery lands while the Labour government is trying to improve relations with Beijing and has approved a major Chinese embassy expansion.
Opposition parties are now demanding a TOTAL audit of Chinese components across the military supply chain.
