@PaulNiland Historically, RU, during the cold war when it was the USSR did have lots of proxies. Modern RU has tried to get proxies in places such as Syria & Africa where they have provided "assistance." Such assistance has strings...requiring them to basically become proxies.

@PaulNiland @absmom1 Possible certain influencers, especially on the Right, take funding/support knowing it originates in RU. But most activists in far Left & Right groups likely aren't aware how RU uses them as merely a means to stir people up and destabilize political climate.

@PaulNiland @absmom1 Probably not knowingly. But RU does provide support to groups on far Right and Left, not to promote those views but to sow division, chaos & confusion and destabilize the political climate. RU doesn't direct such groups - it mostly tries to amplify them.
