Capital efficiency isn't a footnote anymore. It's the strategy.
The uncomfortable question for every gigafactory on the drawing board: how much will you bet on your own technology to lead the next compute paradigm — with a head start? #PhotonicComputing#ChipsAct
A European Commission policy delegation came to our HQ yesterday to see why photonic computing matters for the EU.
We didn't show them an animation. We showed them the first diffusion in photonic computing.
Europe is about to fund a new compute wave under Chips Act 2.0, including a pilot line for photonic ICs.
Ours is already running. Come see it in Stuttgart.
Last day at #ISC26. 4 days of the same conversation at our booth. Nobody asked me if photonic computing works. They asked how much we save in three years on energy end to end. Photonic moved the energy discussion from physics to procurement - that is the shift #photoniccomputing
@NXT4EU Good news for Europe: scaling photonic chip manufacturing.
Worth noting: we are running a photonic pilot line on thin-film lithium niobate at IMS CHIPS in Stuttgart since Jan 2025 — and our processors are in production at EU HPCs.
The base layer is arriving.
@ETN Much of the field is solving a real problem: how to get nonlinearity out of linear optical hardware.
Our NPU does the nonlinear function natively — in the light itself!
That's the difference between an accelerator and an architecture. And it's in production today #QANT
@SciTechera Strong result: optical AI trained in a digital twin, Open-sourced
But — researchers can't get access to it! We took the other path: put a photonic processor into production at #LRZ and #IONOS and made it bookable. The hardware exists. No twin if you can run on the real one.
We just ran a diffusion model in light.
Not simulated. Not on a GPU. Directly in optics.
Photonic processors aren't a 2030 promise anymore. They're in production at a German supercomputing center right now. 👇
The US debates who ships photonic compute first.
Europe still debates whether it's coming.
It's already here, and it's German.
So why are we the ones acting surprised?
Thanks #quantumsummit23 for having me on stage with my talk about vision & fiction in #QuantumTechnology, as well as part of the panel discussion about “Investing in #Quantum Era: Navigating Fears and Aspirations in Deep-Tech Ventures” #deeptech
