The Jewish people, never more than 0.2% of humanity, have survived 3,500 years of systematic persecution by every major empire in recorded history: Egyptian, Assyrian, Babylonian, Persian, Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, and Nazi.
Pharaoh tried.
Haman tried.
Hitler tried with the full machinery of a modern industrial state and murdered six million and still, Israel exists.
Every single empire that made their destruction a priority is gone. The Amalekites are gone.
The Philistines are gone.
Rome is gone.
The Third Reich lasted twelve years.
The Jewish people are still here 15 million strong, back in their ancestral homeland, speaking their ancient language, the same people, the same book, the same God outlasting every sword ever raised against them across 35 centuries of unbroken existence.
What does that mean for us as Christians? It means you take the word of God literally. It means you look to Christ’s character to determine how you are to behave in this world.
The IRGC has yet to abide by a single agreement. And Trump said today, if they don’t comply he will drop bombs on their head.
The people who have deluded themselves that the IRGC is going to wake up and act differently are in for a rude awakening.
So again. Not worried.
@Glenn_Diesen We're literally sleepwalking into WWIII and nobody realizes it. We may end up concluding, as George Kennan did earlier, that NATO expansion constituted "the greatest foreign policy mistake of the twentieth century. "
I've spent my career warning against regime change wars, nation-building, and endless military entanglements. The same voices now attacking Trump's Iran deal are the architects of every failed intervention of my lifetime.
This war must end. I stand with President Trump on peace.
@bdomenech@mdubowitz@realDailyWire It's not being squandered. This is a strategic pause so gas prices go down and the GOP retains the Senate and possibly even the House.
@bonchieredstate It's a strategic pause so gas prices will go down and the GOP will not lose both houses of Congress in the fall. Iran is lying again and Trump has decided to trust them for the moment. That's the size of it.
I don’t want troops on the ground.
I don’t want regime change.
I don’t want forever wars.
I want no comprise, no surrender.
No money, no legitimacy and no sanctions relief.
That’s what victory looks like to me.
You won’t gaslight me by telling me I want things I have never once advocated for.
This is just a pause. It’s an MOU not a final deal. This is a pause before the midterms to stabilize prices. That’s the purpose of this.
Iran will not comply. This will not be a final deal. Trump did not have a lobotomy. This is a strategic pause.
I don’t care who takes a victory lap right now, I care who takes a victory lap in the end.
Call it cope, call it faith, call it belief in God, whatever you want.
This is a strategic pause. This is just the beginning. Nothing is over until it’s over.
So I am not panicking yet.
@DefiyantlyFree That is precisely what I think as well. Both Iran and Trump are stalling, but for completely different reasons. No point bringing Iran to its knees if a Democrat Congress impeaches Trump and negates his foreign policy. Hope he's made the right decision 🙏.
We’ll see how this pans out. If at the end of this Iran gets what is in that MOU, this will be an epic failure. If in the end this is just to stall until after the midterms to stabilize gas prices and attempt round two then it will be fabulous.
Only time will tell. Personally, I don’t think Trump had a lobotomy so I think this is a pause until midterms.
John Mearsheimer: I'm saying to all you folks in the audience is you wanna think like John F. Kennedy in this crisis, not like Joe Biden.
Kennedy understood we were talking back then about the threat of nuclear war, and Kennedy understood that you definitely wanted to do everything you can to avoid that.
@JamieMetzl Biden should have promised to only serve one term as a transitional figure, supported an open primary, and stepped aside. But did anyone really think he, Jill and Hunter would actually do that? If they did, they were very naive.
The Iranians will never voluntarily give up their nuclear program. They will stall and delay as long as possible because they know Trump will only be around for another two and a half years, and that the Democrats will likely hamstring him after the elections. As they used to say in Afghanistan: "Americans have the watches, but we have the time."
