As the #WritersStrike continues, I hope everyone takes note of what Disney's Kathleen Kennedy said about writers at #CannesFilmFestival2023: "Because they’re first in the process, they’re the first to be forgotten." Actors and directors get the glory, but movies start with words.
@Kiley_Ross@TerryMatalas Congrats. Stellar writing, with the long-awaited reunion on a certain bridge feeling logical, organic and earned. You made it look easy. It’s not.
This very basic starting point won't replace human screenwriters any time soon. I'm sure someone will produce an entirely AI-generated movie in the next 5-10 years for novelty's sake. It just won't be good.
THREAD - Now that Meta has joined the AI party along with Microsoft and Google, here's my take on the AI #screenwriting debates that have playing out on here. No, AI can't write fully executed screenplays that are actually good. Yet.
You could also keep asking ChatGPT to tweak it further by asking for antagonists and other plot points - although I doubt you'd get anything other than the most obvious, tropey results because AI simply mimics what has already been done. It's not able to "think" outside the box.
