Before I joined the club, Pep was already an inspiration for me. To become his player and after 9 years end up being the one with most games played under him is truly an honour. He arrived at Man City, and the Premier League couldn’t be dominated playing his way… Well, they were wrong. Not only he dominated, he changed the game in England as he did in other countries before. The hunger and ambition to want more and more even after winning and winning again was a big inspiration. For me personally, he was and will always be my father of football. A lot of the things that many managers in the past thought were weaknesses of my game, he saw it as strengths and understood me from day one. On a personal level, the kindness, trust and respect that we had for each other makes me the proudest and goes beyond football. I couldn’t be more grateful for what he did for me and my family. Thank you for all the memories and experiences to the greatest manager ever Pep Guardiola! 😄
🚨🎙️ Roy Keane on Haaland preventing Gabriel from getting a red card.
“That head situation with Gabriel and Haaland – the lad sticks his forehead right into him, proper aggressive, pushing his head forward like that. Should’ve been a straight red card for violent conduct, end of story. But fair play to Haaland… he didn’t go down easy. He stayed on his feet, didn’t roll around looking for a decision like some of these soft modern players. He just got on with it. That’s proper mentality. None of this diving or play-acting nonsense. Well done, son – that’s how you play the game.”
Marc Guehi: "What a top club this place is, and for the first minute I've come, everyone has been so welcoming; the players, the staff. The manager's been great, I've had to adapt completely, change my game completely.
"And I'm still learning a lot, each and every day, and it's difficult. It's more thought process, as opposed to physical, thinking a lot, finding the right pass, when to pass the ball, driving at players, committing players - there's so many different aspects of the game that I'm learning, on the job..." In NFL history, six QBs have averaged 275 passing yards/game and had 30 TDs and 5 or fewer INT through the first 12 games of the season.
Joe Burrow is the only one of them to have a losing record. Four of the five won NFL MVP that season.
