@ayah_idc Is it means anything as somebody who used to organise medical student placements and was a clinical teaching fellow. I would want to know that this had happened. As departments are getting money for having medical students and yet a proper placement is not being made.
@neilorpen@iDrSunny@gmcuk https://t.co/Uc076Rl1NR I’ve always enjoyed this particular piece of guidance of GPs sticking two fingers to the GMC and pharmacists
@jabberwock951@mouseter_chef@Molly2323232323 . However, part of letting a registrar train is trying to get them to utilise their assistant to get the view/plane that they want. 2/2
@jabberwock951@mouseter_chef@Molly2323232323 I get it from an SHO perspective watching a consultant try and give independence to a reg in theatre.
You need a consultant to either be descrubbed OR out of the room when you do an operation. Otherwise you get a boss still directing/taking over at an inappropriate time 1/2
@mstotty88 Agreed change will be difficult to see across the board.
Could be aided by publishing details of average length of stays in differing departments as well as good clinical leadership and enthusiasm to experiment with current practice.
@mstotty88 I suppose we will also be hearing the results of sunflower at some point soon as well which may change practice hugely as well!
I suppose you would also need to consider if centres should have an UGI and LGI on call for just this reason
@DrEilidhMaria Not something practiced when I was a foundation doctor. Ideally would use CBG. Potential project as these would be quicker and improve the patient experience.
We have just had the nurses strike today in Northern Ireland. I have grown to appreciate their work through my own suffering. Can we please just increase their pay so that I don’t need to ECGs?
This is my first in 5 years. Everything that could go wrong, did.
#nhsstrikes#ECG
Thanks, Tony
For those with short attention spans, Tony has just shown your pay fell by 25% according to the Government’s own statisticians & preferred metric from 2009-23.
RPI losses are much greater.
So - @BMA_Consultants - Vote “No” to the Gvt’s current offer of a pay cut!
