This @InsidePhilanthropy series by @michaelkavate will be interesting to follow. Staff at big funders often can't afford to make small grants. Regrantors also add field expertise through their Advisory Councils and Boards and are an important buffer between strategic change in foundations and the field.
...Foundations gave CJA just under $8million in 2022. Compare that, for example, to the @EnvDefenseFund, which received $40.8million from institutional philanthropy that same year. We’ll see if that disparity persists."

Sad news. Barbara Ehrenreich, my one and only mother, died on September 1, a few days after her 81st birthday. She was, she made clear, ready to go. She was never much for thoughts and prayers, but you can honor her memory by loving one another, and by fighting like hell.
