@AfricaFirsts Johannesburg, great city but too much crime. Also, services were very good but have deteriorated substantially.
Nairobi, awful. Poor infrastructure, little water, power blackouts, traffic. No open spaces. Ugly.
Kigali, just not interesting.
Go with Jozi despite all.
@Alfayaz11 True. The biggest challenge to long term sustainability to whatever we manage to deliver for affordable housing will be management and service fees. They will likely end up as high rise ghettos.
@krazygb@KURAroads@KeNHAKenya@NelsonHavi Agree. I live around there. They have not solved the problem - riparian land grabbing. Houses have been built on top of the 'brook' and in heavy rain, the water spills over to the road. Someone needs to bite that bullet.
The mayor telling residents to use water sparingly while it pours out on streets all over though leaking pipes! This is lunacy and so immoral. He should GO.
South Africa has some good points. The climate is great. The diversity of nature and animals is breathtaking. Camps Bay beach is world class. The winelands are beautiful.
I can criticise the President without fear of arrest. The LGBTQ minorities are free from official interference. We donโt have a secret police force.
Most of all I like the wonderful South African people who I interact with on a daily basis. My experience of my fellow citizens is that neither racial differences nor religious differences nor wealth differences nor age differences are important.
We get along very well together. Thank you.
@IanECox I agree, Lusaka looks good in many places. Reminds me of the Nairobi of the 80's where I grew up. Watch out though, when the slide starts, then it is a very slippery slope.
