Calling cannabis a “gateway drug” while ignoring that alcohol and nicotine are the first substances most people ever abuse is one of the biggest propaganda wins in modern history.
Someone had to say it
As someone diagnosed on the autism spectrum (Level 1 ASD), I want to share what science says, loud and clear:
Asperger’s is not caused by bad parenting, vaccines, or trauma.
It is most likely genetic, and our brains are simply wired differently, not defectively.
Multiple peer-reviewed studies confirm the strong heritability of autism spectrum traits. A large-scale twin study published in JAMA Psychiatry found that genetic factors account for up to 80% of autism risk (Sandin et al., 2014). Neuroimaging studies also show that autistic brains develop distinct neural connections, especially in areas related to sensory perception, pattern recognition, and social communication (Ecker et al., 2013; Belmonte et al., 2004).
This isn’t a bug. It’s a feature, one that has helped shape innovation, science, art, and systems-thinking for generations. People like me aren’t broken. We aren’t in need of fixing. We’re wired for depth, intensity, and creativity.
It’s time to move past outdated myths and embrace a mindset of neurodiversity, one that values different ways of thinking, processing, and being.
We are not less. We are not more. We are different.
And different is needed.
If a woman can row solo across the Pacific Ocean from California to Hawaii in 44 days, I can get out of bed, go for a walk and take a fucking shower before noon.
