Percent of Louisville households that do not even own a single car. When you build only for cars instead of transit, bikes, and walking options across the county, you are leaving up to 50% of households behind and unsafe. Based on 2022 Census tract data:

The biggest misconception I hear in real estate is that high property taxes are bad for home values, but property taxes (when spent effectively) protect your home's value.

In San Antonio, transportation includes a left lane, middle lane, and right lane.
Let's Go Knicks!
@smarkreilly A council person paid for the tables and added them there. The tables were mostly placed or could be fully moved into the public right of way. I have heard they were removed during construction by @clubpilates and not returned.
Big things are coming to Butchertown and Louisville Slugger Field. We have great momentum with these two projects, including more than 500 new apartments planned between the Butchertown development and the Louisville Sports Entertainment District on Main Street Downtown.
Day two 8:20am: still smooth sailing with light to moderate traffic. Interesting we still have less yellow and red than Indianapolis indicating less traffic than our peer city.
I-65 Shutdown
Have an appointment in the LOUMED district this morning and its insane how much quieter it is thanks to the I-65 closure. First time in 3 years working downtown where I heard silence in this district. Crazy how we make peace and quiet a luxury for patients and medical workers
Going to take the opportunity of I-65 closing to shill the field notes article about the very tumultuous history behind its construction: https://t.co/1r5BUW5evp
When it was proposed, Louisville's Board of Aldermen President called it a "montrosity"
@MerriweatherB10@NYC_DOT It’s not a NYC problem. It’s a problem for all US World Cup cities, except Miami and Atlanta.
Hotels warn World Cup bookings are far below expectations:

This is why Arlington keeps getting richer while much of America keeps sprawling
A prime site directly next to Clarendon Metro is being transformed from a diner, parking lots, and an auto shop into:
🏠 290 apartments
🏨 229-room hotel
🛍️ 16,000 SF retail
🍹 Rooftop bar
🚇 Transit-oriented development steps from Metro
Thousands of people pass through this area every day, yet for decades some of the most valuable land in the region was occupied by surface parking and low-rise buildings.
Cities aren't built by expanding outward forever. They're built by using their best land better. 🏙️🚇

@jackstraw9991@Streets4Peeps@heydavebell Trump messed up any safe streets for all grants with infrastructure for bike, peds, transit, etc. But there is a good chance now with minor tweaks it’s back on track, but delayed.
@willystaley Little known fact is that many ppl who bike to get from point A to point B do not like the road cyclists in the park.
And road cyclists in the park are often against bike lanes.
We built a $15M playground beside one of the city’s most polluted highways.
PlayPort gives kids a place to explore — but the aging I-64 covers the area in polluted air, soot, and brake dust.
It’s time to remove failing I-64 and build a cleaner, healthier waterfront.

@jondipietronh President Eisenhower thought that the Interstate program was like the Autobahn in Germany and was shocked to find that it penetrated the cities.
He is quoted saying that if he had known that the Interstate was going into urban areas, he would never have signed the 1956 act.
