@daniel_see1978@matthew_sede Bro, sedes claim there is no Pope or Church hierarchy right now and that only sedes are Catholic. Don't even mention cult like behavior about anyone else man. Come on now!
@austinemarie777@TradCatTaylor@matthew_sede The Pope and Bishops are part of the Church not the Church. Jesus Christ is the Church, and His word is what we follow. So just because Jesus's representatives on earth are terrible it does not mean the Church is terrible.
@austinemarie777@TradCatTaylor@matthew_sede I feel like you are trolling now. Each of those started as schismatic and now formally are heretics. The Church has not taught or infallibly adopted any heretical teachings. The Pope and Bishops definitely flirt or straight up believe in heresy. But the Church doesn't
@metathomist Sedevecantists are wrong, but not protestants. This is such a stupid tired talking point. Actually a lot on NO people are closer to protestants in their beliefs than sedes.
@PatrickHeizer The foster care system is not set up for adopting. It just isn't set up to work like that at all. It is actually very hard to adopt children out of the foster care system. This is just a bad example, and I assume you never actually dealt with the foster system.
@matthew_sede The SSPX exists due to errors coming from Vatican II. Those errors, are not clearly infallible as John 23 and Paul 6 both described the council as pastoral and not ecumenical. Also, the Council didn't infallibly teach anything. So no, the SSPX does not have an issue with that.
@matthew_sede No, you have to prove without a doubt, and that there have been no past examples of Popes in the past teaching any errors. My statement is they have taught errors in the past, so why can't they teach errors now?
@ToontownHacks@CatholicRob@McJuggerNuggets There is a lot of truth to what you are saying. Most people with Down syndrome will always have to live with their parents or caregivers, and even the high-functioning individuals will struggle to find love or live on their own. So I will absolutely concede to you this.
@matthew_sede All infallible Church Teachings must agree with what has always been taught. No new doctrines can be infallibly proclaimed. This is what I wholeheartedly believe, and it is why I cannot be a sedevacantist. Because, if sedevecantists are correct, I shouldn't be a Catholic
@ToontownHacks@CatholicRob@McJuggerNuggets See, I don't like that concept. Because can you imagine if they find out there is a gene that affects your sexual orientatio, we both know there will be some people out there that try to abort their child because they think it benefits society. I don't want to open that door.
@matthew_sede I already answered. I believe that the only teaching I know that is infallible is ex Cathedra. All the others can be susceptible to errors that exist in the Church at any given time. Especially if those teachings don't align with what has been believed for centuries in the Church
@matthew_sede That is not actually what Papal infallibility means. We are only assured that what the Pope teaches ex Cathedra will be infallible. Pope Liberius signed semi-Arian documents. So he technically taught error as well.
