It's weird isn't it, a bloke we've never met or spoken to in person. But watching him play football every week, watching him score important goals and singing his song, we all feel like we know him and every other player. That's the power of football and our club.

I’m not a Scouser but, having lived around them and known many, I can say this without hesitation… Scousers are the most loyal football fans in the world.

They’ll back you through thick and thin. They’ll carry the weight of criticism from outsiders and still fight for you until the very end. Their loyalty isn’t conditional, it’s embedded in who they are.

But, once you betray that loyalty, it’s over. And rightly so.

These fans don’t just support a team, they share their lives, their pride, their joy with the players who wear that shirt. To throw that back in their face is unforgivable.

What stings the most is that Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of them. That’s why it cuts deeper. He should understand better than anyone what this club, this city, and these people stand for. The backlash isn’t just because of what he did, it’s because of where he’s from.
